Going from low to high tide would have definitely pushed him inland. He was only a mile from the coast. Floating out to sea doesn’t make any sense.

They are not, here’s the link for the lady that survived 10 hours. Water didn’t look that rough on the video. His drinking and hypothermia were the bigger concerns that night unless you want to go with sharks.

Here's another link of an Alabama man who survived 20 hours in the Gulf of Mexico after falling off a cruise ship. He was unconscious when he hit the water and came to floating on his back (per his story, anyway).

Which way does the water flow in Nassau Harbor on an incoming tide ? East - West ?
North- South?

It true, the density of salt water is much greater than fresh making it much more buoyant . Same reason boats run better in salt water.

No shite. So all you have to do is not panic, and you can stay afloat for days or weeks at a time, huh? Are you as stupid as that angel bitch too?

You replied to this saying , “You’re ridiculous.”

And floating is extremely easy in salt water. When you completely relax and float riding the waves for long periods of time, you can still feel yourself floating up and down when you go to bed at night and close your eyes. When you open your eyes the sensation goes away. Without the threat of the marine life in the ocean, I could float and tread for a very long time and never tire. It’s the lack of water and food that would make a strong swimmer & great floater succum

What’s ridiculous is your bizarre comprehension of floating for weeks. The irony of you calling someone else stupid and a bitch when you just want to argue & be contrary. Go argue in a mirror.

This is generally what I think happened. I doubt he could have seen the buoy from his perspective in a darkened ocean with the waves and his intoxication.

No one know how intoxicated he was.

However, the life preserver was next to the ship. I have no idea why anyone would swim AWAY from a boat filled with people and lit up like a Christmas tree and TOWARD a dark black sea.

Unless something scared him.

You've posted that already. Yes, 10 hours. The first post of Angel's on this topic mentioned drifting for days.

Again, it's because the first post of yours that starting the floating conversation was you mentioning "floating for days". You're an obnoxious twit.

I guess you're correct technically. But if people are saying that he was definitively attacked by a shark based on what we've seen, then I think it's safe to say that an 18 year old on a booze cruise who decided to jump into the ocean at night was pretty drunk.

just reading through this thread and this made me laugh. I have taken tons of people fishing and almost every time a dolphin is around somebody yells shark when they see the fin...i've seen this at the beach also.

Rising tide moves west on the east coast. Lowering tide moves east. He was in the harbor and would have been pushed inland.

Specific to Bahamas though is linked below.

I said this…
”Without a doubt. I’d much rather go quickly than to have a slow and agonizing death after drifting for days watching planes and ships in the distance that never see me.”

People have been adrift without a float and survived through the night as they watch planes and ships searching for them. No one said weeks but you.

The irony coming from the contrarian who goes out of their way to ignore the obvious. Stop projecting your behavior onto others.

Who said days or weeks dip shite?

Just long enough for a rescue team to find you…. When the kid went over, there was a search crew looking for him that night…
