As one that has an occasional stress smoke, I have never been able to comprehend the pack a day thing. Damn. That’s like wake up and smoke and throughout the day until bedtime ffs. Obviously that’s awful even if it was something less harmful.
A pack a day is fairly common amongst smokers. It’s a little over one per hour during waking hours. That’s not good, but not really chain smoking. Now 3 packs a day, that’s like a cig every 15-20 minutes.

Hell yeah, just popped a coffee flavored Zyn, like I do every day.
I need to let my girlfriend read this thread. She doesn’t fuss at me about them but she places them right by my toothbrush as a passive aggressive move when I leave those frickers in my pockets. We don’t discuss it.

But Zyns and the like are just fine. Carry on, children. Your parents won’t even smell it.

I mean, we literally all have "nicotinic receptors" in our brain. So, it's not the nicotine. Cancer's from the tobacco, smoke and/or whatever unnatural delivery system.

I thought the tobacco caused the cancer...though I think vapes cause cancer so I guess I'm wrong

I always get a kick out of the people who vape to get off cigs.

Isn’t nicotine, especially chronic use, very bad for your cardiovascular system?
And you don’t need chronic use. You can feel that instantly when doing it once

“I’ll will say it’s the chemicals they add to the tobacco”
They add all kinds of shite.Fire retardants to keep them from burning as fast.Ammonia as flavor enhancer. No telling what all they add, probably pesticide residues.
Nevertheless, breathing in smoke of any kind is not good for the lungs.I have a cousin that has been daily marijuana smoker for probably 50 years
( now 72) and she has bad Copd.

TL;DR: Live your life, but use common sense. If you don't have common sense, educate yourself. Eat a healthy diet. Minimize processed food. Have an occasional treat, but make it a special occasion. Not just because you woke up.
We all eventually die. I won't tell an adult how to live, but I will tell them what works for me. Eating high protein and fat with no added carbs (other than what occurs naturally in food.) Not trying to eat some keto/carnivore diet.
I just find that high protein/fat - low carb, makes me feel best. Labs all normal. BP normal. Skin looks better, no headaches, joint health good, etc.
That being said, it's perfectly normal to have a rare cigar or glass of whiskey. People that adopt an all or nothing attitude have their own issues, and I can understand why they feel that way. (Some people simply can't moderate themselves, so total restriction is the only way for them.)
Nicotine in small doses over a long period of time is not a big deal. It's easily dealt with by the body. Same with alcohol or any other substance. Don't make it a habit.

Many believe nicotine to be a wonder drug of sorts. Pure nicotine—I would be a lot more concerned about all the petro chemical activity in Louisiana. I’m not worried about a little caffeine either. I don’t think kids should be drinking soda either, but this white trash country allows it. Might as well let the boy have a lozenge

No one really knows. When tobacco is burned, there are numerous substances/toxins released in the smoke. This is why FDA approved the original vaping devices because it delivers the chemical (nicotine) without the byproducts in smoke.
Things went south when poor quality/unregulated packs flooded the market and caused problems due to the “byproducts” again. Still overall safer than inhaling burned tobacco long term.
Oral cancers from chewing tobacco again isn’t necessarily the nicotine but the other products used to treat/preserve/flavor

Show me someone that has smoked cigs for 40 years. They’ll have bad teeth, bad breath, wrinkles all over their face, and cough constantly.
I’ve concluded that my study is accurate.
