I ran exclusively in the Nike Span Triax for normal runs in college (not counting speed work and races). However, Nike ditched that shoe and pretty much went to crap.
So now, I run in Mizunos, the Riders or Precisions.

or is the OT runners too good for Nike and only run Brooks, Saucony, or Asics or the likes?
I just shelved my Brooks for a pair of Frees

didn't know they had a specific uniform
they dont but frees arent very supportive when lifting because of their loose upper shell. heard a lot of crossfitters complain about that

I ran through two pair of Nike's in 3-4 months. However, I am bad overpronator, and tend to run/walk through outer heal of all my shoes.
My Mizunos are supposed to help with pronation control, but are about done after 80 Miles....

Yeah, I love these things. I go Nike Vomero if I want a bit more stability.

Frees are alright. Vibram Five Fingers are really where it's at. They look weird, sure, but damn they're great to run in.

Had my blue and gunmetal grey Free 4.0s for 2 and a half years now. Still wear them and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. This is coming from a guy who hates Nike...

Love my Free 6s. I was running in Skeletoes, and loved them, but free is more versatile and just about as light. Also smells a million times better.

Brooks Adrenaline for me.

Bought a pair of the free run 3s and they killed my feet when I ran.
My podiatrist buddy told me Frees have crippled more people than polio.

I generally prefer Nike and do like the Nike Frees. Planned on buying a pair for a while, then someone on here posted a link to some New Balance Minimus on sale for $29.99 at Joe's NB Outlet sometime around Christmas, so I pulled the trigger at that price. These, specifically:

They don't look as good as Frees IMO, but they are extremely comfortable; almost like not wearing shoes at all.

nike air max + 2013 are some of the most comfortable shoes ive had

I own a pair of Frees as my everyday shoe. I hate running in them.
Brooks Pure Drift is my run shoe.

I'm sure the Frees are great for short runs or just wearing for comfort, but I'm not running a marathon in those things

A little surprising. At least one study has shown some potential as to the reason:

I don't know how much better the midfoot strike is really supposed to be over time, but I see what the article is getting at. If people switch to Frees, then start logging a bunch of miles without adjusting their running style, they open themselves to greater wear and tear. Doesn't necessarily mean the shoe is at fault.
