Electrification is causing problems with several foreign auto companies. Nissan has been dreading the transition and aren't putting full effort into ICE vehicles with the anticipation of demand change. Companies are being coerced and forced in some places.

When you come upon a Sentra or Altima, you have a 75% chance of knowing what is driving it. 50/50 with a Maxima even though they are discontinued.

Agree. We have a 3.7l q50 just over 100k miles. That naturally aspirated engine is solid.

It actually just died on me yesterday. I think it’s a goner. Pretty sure it’s the engine block. But even if that’s the case I got my money’s worth out of it. I bought it with 50,000 miles already on it and made it to the moon and more than half way back.
On top of that, I beat the hell out of my work cars. I drive 40,000 to 45,000 a year for work and it’s stop and go all day long. I’m a sales rep and I will hit every convenience, liquor, or grocery store in my territory. Literally one parking lot to the next all day every day.
The only work I’ve had done to it up till now was the AC and some brake work that will have to be done with any vehicle. Had to replace a few hoses, belts, and things like that but nothing major.
Good car.

Had a 1997 Maxima and it was great. Flawless car that I drove all over NC for work and put 200k miles plus on it.
Traded it tor some 4 door Infinity I-something and it had some engine issue that needed to be fixed and never was the same afterward…valves rattled. Traded for a Lexus ES350 and never looked back.
Back in the day the Maxima, 300’s, 240, etc. were legit.

If you want a simple reliable truck you get that
Reliable naturally aspirated V6, no auto stop bullshite, no CVT.
I might buy one to replace my 3rd vehicle 15 year old f150

Lost in this thread is that Nissan is one of the truly legendary Japanese companies. A truly great company. Now I know Nissan USA is different but in Japan, at least when I lived there, they were a beloved company with an incredible history. In fact, I read a book once called The Reckoning by David Halberstam which discusses the greatness of their organization, without my imagery of Shaquilisha driving 65 miles an hour down Siegen with the muffler dragging on the road. That book by the way is still one of the greatest ever written about the automobile industry.

Live by the CVT transmission, die by the CVT. nobody trust nissan anymore because of their CVT reputation. You are buying a ticking timebomb if you buy any of their entry cars and suvs. You know that when you buy, by 125k miles you are buying a new transmission.

The new Frontier is a nice truck.

Worried about what this means for Canton, MS.
It was a really bad move to go all in and convert the canton factory to all EVs.

My wife just got an Altima for work. It's a huge piece of shite. Already been towed once and today it just threw up the like 4 or 5 different warning lights. Going to get towed tomorrow again.

They need to remake the 300zx before they go.
