The man who allegedly shot two BRPD officers at a house in Baton Rouge's Howell Park neighborhood Sunday afternoon was wanted in a domestic violence homicide that had occurred hours earlier, according to a source close to the investigation.

...

Police had been looking for the suspect after responding to a shooting earlier Sunday that left another man dead in a domestic violence incident, the source said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to release information about the ongoing investigation.

to be fair... she put herself in a lose-lose situation when it comes to BRPD matters

She should have supported them from the beginning and pushed for a pay raise as well. Why waste money on studies?

Studies allow you to funnel money to people you select with the added benefit of removing the need for you to make a decision.

Man, how many people are we gonna find out this a-hole killed today? That's at least two so far, possibly three depending on the outcome for the second cop.

The general public would end up knowing vastly less than they do now.

Do the decent people ever get fed up with it and take back their society? Or just continue to get upset/sad/mad for a little while and never really do anything about it?
I get what you're saying, but it's a little more complicated and kind of hard for the decent ones to do that. The criminals run those areas and can essentially be like terrorists for those neighborhoods. Some can be so ruthless, that it puts the good residents there in a constant fear. If the good ones say anything and speak out against the criminals, they're immediately labeled as rats and will most likely be dealt with, or at least that's what they fear.

It's a fricked up situation the good people in those areas are in. I definitely wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

I can’t see this going well if they make a statement before the department or notifications have been made.

They all have at least one opportunity to stand up for what's right. That's in the voting booth on election day. But when that opportunity comes around, they vote in lockstep for "leaders" who perpetuate their pitiful situation, protect the criminals, and undermine law and order.

Presumably that's why they're getting ready to make the statement No?

I'm sure they have their ducks in a row. This happened almost 4 hours ago. I'm sure the families have been notified. We have been aware that one of the officers died for at least 2 hours now. I have no doubt that a statement will be appropriate as to what can be released.
