She evacuated once before and it took her two days to get back. Bad traffic. Before we were together.

Nah one of my wife's best friends works in a hospital there and is "locked down" in the hospital for the duration. Definitely not a looter.

Aren't their barrier islands off Corpus Christi that can mitigate some of the storm surge?

Not saying I would ride it out if I lived close to the beach. Just curious what they expect.

You are pretty coast to the bay. We're a good ways from the water. Near the OSO though.
Yes, there are barrier islands.

Yeah Padre Island IS that island.

One of my buddies has an uncle who has a cabin on one of the spoil islands between Padre and the intracoastal. I'm bummed as hell to think that it probably won't be there anymore. Nice place. Great fishing. Pretty sweet concept. Well built, but I dunno about 115 mph and 12' storm surge well.

Keep hearing people say it has the possibility to reach 4.

Hoping that isn't the case, hope it won't make it to 3. There is a lot in that area that people enjoy.

Hope it doesn't reach a 4. That could be bad. The Island may go under.

If a 4 made landfall on a water associated city it would be devastating. I think as of even now they are expecting at least a 10 foot surge? May not be 100% on that..but still, either way it's going to be difficult.

Not sure the surge will make the bay. The city is on the bay. I do not know how deep it is really.

On the bright side, you and your wife may be getting an early inheritance.

The surge will make the bay. I would suggest you protect photos and move to high spot in home and get out of town.

Baw I hope you know how to swim because you are going to be dealing with CAT 4 winds and surge.

Craigslist listings for generators under $400.

There are a bunch. For our last hurricane, I told all my neighbors to fill their gas cans and we would save everyone's freezers. We also all met in my driveway with coffeepots and everybody had coffee in the morning.

Having a generator almost guarantees you will not need it.

Good luck.
