So, 5 people showed up at the airport and checked their luggage, then left the airport?
I'd be interested to find out, for a flight this size, the average number of checked bags whose passengers don't make the flight. Considering connections, it may be about 5 out of 240 or however many there were on this 777. Airlines are very frequently late these days.

this is the kind of stuff that keeps you up at night... i think about that air france flight almost everytime i step onto a plane.

How do you book a flight by phone without paying for it? Or is it like a hotel where you can pay cash when you arrive and the card is not charged?
Some airlines allow you to put a hold on tickets for some time. That timeframe changes airline to airline.

damn. the pilot loved flying so much. He built his own 777 simulator in his home and built and flew model airplanes. I hope it wasn't error.

We also mentioned that he made his own Boeing 777 flight simulator. That's just how passionate he is about flying.
When he was away from piloting an actual Boeing 777, he built his own simulator to practice even more.

possible new debris field..
It makes me really uneasy that it's been this long and they haven't found anything. More so that the leads have turned into dead ends. I can't imagine what the families are going through. Terrible.

The Gulf of Thailand is only 80 meters deep. The plane itself was 63.7 meters in length.

Was the plane a few thousand miles wide like the Gulf of Thailand?

Sounds like a good place to train some terrorist. Experienced pilot with a good cover story. *tin foil*?

Should be no problem finding that. Apparently, no debris field either, so plane should be intact. Tail probably poking out of the water.
