If God had wanted you to ride bikes on roads he wouldn't have made it so easy for every dumbass to get a car.
Seen way too many bikers hit by carsin the ER

There was a guy that got killed on the Trace last year because he zoned through a cross street without yielding at the stop sign and got hit by a car.
I had the pleasure of riding with that kid a few times and pass that intersection a few times a month heading up towards Old Military.
Once the details were known, I never heard one cyclist bash the driver in that accident...not one. Now, the good that came from it was the add'l stop signs on some of the roads that intersect with the trace, which I agree with.

God forbid the other people look at it from someone else's point of view.

he was in the right lane and so were the cyclists. That was confirmed. That means he tried to pass the cyclists and stayed in the same lane as them when trying to pass them, OR it means he never saw them at all. Either negligence or incompetence....how can you not see this?

Nor did I. A momentary lapse in judgement cost that kid his life. It's a sobering reminder how important it is not to lapse in judgement, even for a moment. It shook me up, as I ride there pretty regularly.
They also added the stop signs at all trace crossings, which were badly needed. The Covington side of the trace has a lot of foliage and you often can't see traffic until you're at the intersection. Just gotta be smart.

Best way to deal with an Assclown is to give an Assclown response.

Yeah, your response before that was so great.
"You and elprez can have your little bicyclist circle jerk"
All because you didn't agree with their point of view.

Or he could have given them more than 3 feet and the cyclists went two wide and got in his way. You don't know that didn't happen so just let it go.

This. I had some biker tap on my window to remind me he was there while I was waiting to take a right. I rolled it down and asked why he was trying to pass me at the red light. He just said he had the right of way and went through the red light.
That fricking kills me. The only road I pass on the right is St. Charles where the lane is literally 17 feet wide and it's not a problem, and then I'll stop at the light. All other roads I'll stay in the column of traffic.
When I drive to work I come down Freret, and it's pretty narrow. Cyclists pass on the right all the time. I can't stand it, so I don't do it when I ride.

For fricks sake. Please go find a hobby or something.
LNCHBOX can't resist a cycling thread. He's in every one of them.

I like how you say I need a hobby yet you call me out in several threads. Maybe you need something to do besides follow me.

I got hit by a old black man in a Tundra around Christmas on Claiborne Ave. Dude made a right turn on red and smoked me. Didn't break anything but I was lucky and was able to sorta jump off as my bike was getting smashed. Still have some aches in my back and my legs from it. Nice little concussion but other than that and some scrapes and bruises I made it out fairly decent.

I literally am not though.

I'm still waiting on a possible scenerio where someone driving a car passes four cyclists while remaining in the same lane as them doesn't show poor judgement or incompetence.

The one thing I wish cyclists did was call out more of our own.
I know we dont want to make someone feel bad after being hit by a car, and I'm sure they learn their lesson, but they need to be used as a lesson of what NOT to do.
The kid Justin that was hit on the tace needs to be used as what NOT to do, but we feel bad and somber and we kinda stay hush hush as not to offend anyone (other cyclists).
We won't bash the driver, but we don't bring attention to the failure of the cyclist that cost him/her their life.
I's a delicate subject to tackle because you look like an insensitive prick, but it needs to happen.

I agree with this whole post. I'm not anti cyclist or anything, but a very vocal group of y'all is quick to always blame cars in every instance.
