I feel like you're overthinking this. That's the kind of conversation you have in person.. over drinks.
You're essentially just feeling people out on these apps to see if they're even worth meeting.
What app are you using? They have cut down on bots on most of the main 3 (Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder) significantly, but that does seem awfully forward of the girl to ask you for your number.
Maybe she's just DTF

It’s pof which is essentially the trash version of most dating sites. I had an account on there years ago so that’s why I went back to it. I actually know 2 coworkers who had success on Tinder so I might give it a try as well. I’ve never even heard of Hinge.
But again, if I do give this a shot, do you think I should give her my real number or go out and get a temporary/disposable/burner phone?

Had this happen to me. Met her, turned out she just was lonely and wanted to move way to quick. (began asking about a title after only 3 weeks of meeting)

Just give her the number. It very easy to block any numbers these days. Some rarely open the app and rather just grab a number real quick or any other form of social media to talk.

Yeah my dude get off of POF. That is easily the worst of all of them. Definitely try out Hinge - it's the best of the group imo. Better quality of women on there.
And I definitely wouldn't waste money on a burner phone - just give her your number and if she blows your phone up or is creepy just block the number.
OR
Get a Google Voice number (they're free) - I use that occasionally for random things. You can get it on your regular phone without giving out your real number.

Well my question was just answered, lol. Her profile and all our messages are gone. I guess she was a boy and got kicked off the site, lol. Typical online dating.
