First off, get of of POF. That site is garbage.
Once you move to a different app, stay away from the long opening statements. It looked like you were writing an email. You'll be texting back and forth so the conversation should flow as such. You learn a little here and there, drop some humor, ask a couple questions and then ask her out if it seems like y'all are connecting. Like someone else said, don't get stuck texting back and forth. Move to a date.
ETA: Beware of angled pics, snapchat filter use, no pics with friends and no pics showing teeth. All these are major red flags.
