Pull forward to exit is safer. Better visibility, better maneuverability. Every commercial safe driving class will tell you this.
Exactly.
When you back INTO the parking space, you are in the aisle and can see any potential hazards in front or behind before you start backing in.
When you back OUT of the parking space, if there are cars parked next to you it's a lot more difficult to see anyone else coming or going.
The best approach is to pull through, if possible. No backing up at all.

I always try to back into a spot or park where I can pull through. Now the person that tries to back into a spot who can’t back in for shite, gets crooked or crosses into the adjacent spot and sets off the chain of fouling up the position of every vehicle that comes to park in the row has a special place in Hell right next to the devil.

You will have to back in or out so why does it matter which order they do it in?
I back in.
I back in.

Military is taught to back in vehicles as well for safety reasons.

wrong. much easier to back into a spot with a larger vehicle

My F350 turns sharper backing up than going forward. Much easier in tight spots like Lowe's or HD.
By the way, have you ever seen a Lowe's or HD parking lot completely full? It would really be convenient to angle those spaces!

Easier to hide the Trucknutz from prying eyes. Don’t want anyone making off with these bad boys...

My work requires it and it’s so much easier to back a truck in than pull in forward

Smith Driving course teaches it this way.

I'll say it's easier to back in a spot than backing out into moving cars/pedestrians but your scenario?
I cant imagine but ok.

You either back up when you get there or to back up when you leave so why not do what’s safer.

whoa buddie! back it up right there!

If you get to work early enough it's very easy.

It's not a 1 way is correct type situation. Very debatable.
I can do both easily but I'll do it faster pulling in forward. Again, I back in.

A lot of people around where I work and live do this. What is the logic behind it? I've asked some that I know and they say its simply to get out easier. Sure, but its even harder to back into a space than it is to back out of one.
Backing into the parking space, you can see into the space to see what you are backing into. Backing out of a parking space into the lot/road, your vision can be obscured by the vehicles on either side of you.
It's all about it being safer when you are leaving the space.
