We are taught “first move forward” in defensive driving school and back in parking is required

Curious how many accidents have happened or time wasted waiting for idiots to back in. God forbid a man drive a few spots down and walk a few more steps.
If someone has an accident while waiting for a truck moving 1/2 MPH backing into a parking spot it was caused be something other than the truck backing into the space.

It's infinitely easier, faster, & safer to back into a spot than out of one. Been doing this ever since I learned how to drive.
It should be a requirement to pass a driver's test.

It’s very common with the blasian community

Some sedans and vans have very low clearance and you can scrape the underside of your front end if you pull up too closely to a parking curb. Backing in prevents that problem.
Plus all of the other reasons listed.

Muh plant parking lot rules

This is not the only reason, but a factor is the decision between making it easier to park or get out. Because I not a morning person, I'd rather save the pain in the arse of backing out of my garage when I'm groggy and pissed at the world, by backing into in the evening when I'm in a more pleasant mood.
Also, when you're in a parking lot, if you're backing out you need to watch both sides back and forth from a shitty vantage point. Where as if you're backing into a spot you're watching 1 area (and if you have the rear view camera you don't even need to break your need to do it), plus pulling out is way easier. In general, I find it offers a network lower the number of chances to frick-up and hit something.
