My Dad retired as a hospital pharmacy manager.

He's stated it's not a field with a future.
Too many graduates, efficiency improvements allow one pharmacist to do much more than one in the past.
He sees Amazon etc grabbing market share via pill-pack.

You retail? I

Yes sir. I’ve been doing it long enough to keep everything running smoothly .. so it’s not so bad most days.. but flu shot season is coming and it’s by far my least favorite time of the year

At a retail chain you might get away with a time or two but it would be difficult. Only small amounts though. Same for a hospital setting. Small mom and pop store it would be much easier to get away with it for a while before you eventually got caught.

I always dreaded those weekly district calls where we never met our goal numbers.

I’m doing this with a phone and not a PC so that may be the reason why.

Certain sites won’t work when I try them.

Our flu shot goal is close to 1,000... Fml... we won’t come close to that... but luckily if we do hit it we get a PIZZA PARTYYYYYYYYYY... and if we’re the top store our district manager comes and works a shift with us... I’d rather spend a week in Skid row

Pharmacists can also work in the pharma industry and not have to deal with retail.

Nothing like the district manager stopping by and actually having to “do things like they’re supposed to be done” haha.

I’m not a Pharmacist, but there is a lot to know to do compounding, make Tpn, and all sorts of other stuff that happens in inpatient pharmacy.

I’ve known a lot of pharmacists that went on to dent school or med school. Orthodontists, pulmonologist, radiologists, pediatricians.

I find this statement odd though I do understand the genesis.

While I view pharmacists as a fundamental part of modern medicine attorneys were the only profession outside of service members important enough in the minds of the framers to be specifically mentioned in the Bill of Rights.

Lawyers are necessary, just not in the numbers we have of them.

Isn't our lawyer per person number ridiculously high compared to almost everywhere else?

I found a link:

eh, close to everybody else. I guess Israel has more per capita because they are so Jewish, wonder what they do?

A WEEK?

That's one every ten minutes around the clock for an entire week. There is NO frickING WAY that happens. It takes at least fifteen minutes if I'm the only person there to get a flu shot at 10 am.

Guess pharmacy has joined the ranks of law, optometry, audiology, and veterinary medicine.

Seems the same is happening with nurse practitioners. When I finished undergrad it was the same with law school, I guess that market has opened up a little?
