All y'all making comments on that stereo have me ready to get home from work today and make use of the giant Magnavox stereo sitting up in my second floor media room. Might have to put a stack of old Christmas albums from the 1950s and 60s on the turn table while tying a few flies. Unfortunately, the 8-track player has been eating some of my classic tapes of late.

How many players do you old timers recognize?
If you need a closer look:

Bottom Left next to the trainer: Bosox Eddie Collins and NY Bomber Tony "Poosh 'em up" Lazzeri.
Note: The famous interlocking "NY" insignia wasn't yet part of the NY Yankees uniform.

Early scouting report on Walter Johnson:
"There's a young fellow out here that throws em so fast, you can't see em. And he knows where it's going, too, or there would be dead bodies all over Idaho".

My mom and dad had a Grundig that he bought in Germany when he was stationed there. It looks close to this but was darker. It had a EQ pretty cool tech for 1960. He had to speakers that matched the console. That thing was heavy. It sounded great though. Had shortwave/AM/FM on it also. All the writing on the tuner was in German. Later in life he put it in his workshop outside. He put the speakers in the attic. One day he decided to toss it. Me or my brother didn't find out about him doing that tell well after it was done. We both would have taken it just for the memories. I see these things go for $1300 - $10k now. I keep looking to see if I can find one like it to buy one day, and have it restored.
The speakers are still in my mom's attic.
