How about a poli board for actual discussion and a separate board for true believers.
One thing about discussing on OT is usually you can have somewhat of a discussion before the PT regulars take over.

It's all permeated with politics because the people that are running the show now, inject everything into politics. I get what you are trying to do, but you're gonna have a tough time policing this.

The reason there is so much political conversation on the OT is that the Poli board has grown into a massive MAGA echo chamber. There is no room for conversation. The second anyone says anything anti-MAGA a loud faction of the board starts calling them cucks, soy boys, etc... It's tedious and tiring.
If you want Politics off the OT, improve the moderation in the Poli board.

Yeah if you want to talk about political-related controversial topics that aren't pure "let's string up the traitors" then there is no place to do it.

I think you just need to know how to debate better. I have a certain few over there that try this when i tell them to stop being political cheerleaders for Trump (despite the fact i support him). It doesn't devolve into that simple minded name calling because i know how to debate with facts/ figures and examples.

This is the problem over there. I used to love that board but now it's a "pure blood" this, "stolen election" that, posters like BoarEd who are legitimately mentally ill and every person on the planet apparently dies from the jab now. It's why I didn't mind the political threads here, the discussions were much more reasonable.

Can people stop calling Oldmanbeasley a groomer. I had a brief stint as a pet groomer in the 80s and it went horribly wrong. Oldmanbeasley has moved on and wants to leave his pet grooming in the past. Thank you.
