liz,, you survived, that was the single most important thing you could do.
Chances are your instinct kicked in and you did what was necessary to get through it.
For someone that was not there, nor has never been in a situation similar they cannot say you should have fought or have fought harder. Or that by not doing something different you consented in any way.
You're here, that means you made what was the right choice for you. Im sorry you had to go through it, but am glad that you're here to share and possibly teach

Yep.
Another problem with misinformation I see is people saying if the guy had a boner, he obviously was consenting and wanted it. No, that's not how it works. Boners are a biological function independent of the brain and only needs friction and lubrication to get to full sail. It has nothing to do with attraction entirely.
Erection does not equal consent, just like we agree that women getting moist is not consent.
I hate misinformation.

Do you realize how stupid it is to call us feminists? You really think feminists would hang around this website? fricking fail.

If that's rape, I haven't been making myself available enough.

Just by typing out your story and hitting that submit button, you're one of the bravest people I know even as an online username.
So sorry this happened to you. Prayers to you.

LL is actually suggesting the chick who told her story wasn't even raped because of some retarded interpretation of my argument.
Because you're saying that a hypothetical situation where someone says no and then goes silent and doesn't put up a fight isn't rape. You said that. Ignore the cuddling if you must. Fine. No cuddling. Someone alone with a guy in her home, maybe even being flirty, saying no when he tries for sex and then lying there silently and taking it when he presses isn't rape to you.
And that's fine.
It's not necessarily "rape" to me either. Maybe sexual aggression and being a dickhead, but I've already said pages ago that I don't necessarily think a guy should be jailed for that.
The only difference in that situation and her's is that she did not know the guy when he started making moves on her. Both situations have someone not fighting back. Both have someone laying there and taking it without defense.
So IF BY YOUR LOGIC, not defending yourself means it isn't rape, then I don't see why you'd think that one is and one isn't. Both are the same other than in one, they previously flirted or knew each other, and in the other, there was no interaction.
Flirting with someone does not automatically mean they have permission to frick you. It doesn't magically make someone able to gather the strength to push them off and defend themselves. If anything, it's probably quite difficult for some women to tell a trusted friend or whatever to GTFO where they might find it easier to tell a stranger to do so.
And Liz and I both said we don't necessarily think the guy needs to be jailed for said action.. as he most likely doesn't see it as rape (as evidenced by her decision to not press charges). And I can see why someone you've been flirting with all night might not consider it rape when you say no once and then just lay there and let it happen. And again.. I DO NOT NECESSARILY THINK IT'S RAPE EITHER. All I've said is that some women do consider it rape, and I can see where they gather that from.
If that makes me a feminazi, I'd sure love to see you interact with the women who 1000% think that it's rape.

Rape is without consent. There doesn't have to be some kind of defense put up at all.

And you had never interacted with this man prior to the rape? That sounds like a pretty clear cut case of rape. Where was this?
