The key word on all this is action. Those people of color in power have never created any laws or pursued any ACTION to deprive any non person of color.

Bet you didn't know that when black Eddie Jordan became Orleans district attorney he fired all the white lawyers. Tell me again how blacks can't be racist because they lack power. Which is a retarded was to redefine the word anyway.

Holy frick.

Do you understand the difference between racial theory and racism? Do you understand that the English language functions because it sets forth agreed upon meanings to words so that we can communicate in an efficient manner?

In other words, no one gets to change the definition of words just because they FEEL or they THINK or they BELIEVE the current definition is lacking.

This is why people laugh at your generation.

From The Undergirding Factor is POWER
Toward an Understanding of Prejudice and Racism, by Caleb Rosadol, Eastern University:

quote:

Ever since the European restructuring of the world from the 16th century on, racism has become affirmative action for whites. It is both an attitude and an act of structural superiority, which justifies its very existence by giving biological differences, such as skin color, texture of the hair, physical features; or cultural differences such as language, religion, ethnicity, or accent, a negative value and meaning. This negative meaning then legitimizes treating the Other as inferior to oneself or ones group. The result is an objective (visible, measurable, tangible), differential (there is an obvious difference between groups), and unequal treatment (the difference in treatment is not the same), where one groups gets consistently short-changed.

He then proceeded to tell me that by his rationale, white people are the only ones who can be racist, because "through privilege, we are the only ones who hold power to deprive those we subjugate".

One more thing I found curious, he was also talking about the definition of race, and how he could identify himself as African American because, although he had never been to Africa, he has African ancestry (or at least he thinks he does). I asked him if I could identify as German/English American, and he said "No, it doesn't work that way"

Your friend is retarded (actually just factually wrong and playing a juvenile falsehood) and you should tell him SundayFunday said so.

That is racism, and it fits the definition of power + Privilege + action.

I note that I am the only one here citing authoritative sources and experts on these issues, and not just regurgitating what my friends tell me.

I study and review and analyze these issues all the time on the internet, using reliable sources. Some good points have been made, admittedly, but in the end I am correct on this issue.

why are you quoting professors from universities? Do they determine the meaning of a word?

You're the only one here that is arguing AGAINST A DICTIONARY. There is no bias in a DICTIONARY.

Everything you post is opinion, conjecture, or theory. Those are not FACTS. Just stop. You're embarassing yourself. You'll see the error of your ways when you're older than 17.

“...the personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew.”

- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

Someone wrote this down in a book, guys. Jews = devil. I don't care what your dictionary says.

No, old privileged white lexicographers did.

Professors are trying to take the bias out of the dictionary as they should.

Actually there was a thread a couple weeks ago with a bunch of OT millenials claiming they aren't in that generation Bc they don't FEEL like it. This is the generation of claiming a different generation based on feelings or something.

I am a source and an expert. I have been a practicing non-racist my entire life (see sig pic of family). I love and respect people based on their internal characteristics, and not their skin tone. Yet you just determined through your "sources and experts" that I am by DEFINITION a racist.

We call this going down the Ideological rabbit hole. In your case -Group Identity Politics, which is just a form of Cultural Marxism. If you'd like I can refer you to many "sources and experts" that deconstruct it so that you might understand the nature of your philosophical affliction.

Actually, changing the definition of the word is actually what you are doing. Here is the definition below. The definition agreed upon by the English speaking world beyond border or identity. You are subjectively and objectively incorrect and continuing an actually racist and prejudiced attempt at redefining a word to target one entire race as evil or morally wrong. You are literally doing what the true racists in the country tried to do to blacks, irish, etc a century ago but in a less direct way.

You would do well to grow up before you become the racist you claim to despise so much.
