Who cares... I don't care about seeing anyone's face on a call and I really don't care about showing my face on a call. My camera stays off. frick whomever doesn't like it. Oh I'm the boss, so it doesn't matter any way....

Did you ever talk to the individual about it? If not, bad management.

I’ve let my teams know that it’s inexcusable to not have your camera on when it’s an interactive meeting. Conferences, training, etc…fine to leave it off.

I thought one of the advantages of working from home was that you don't have to see people daily? Now we want to force them in to doing video calls?

I worked for three years in a professional services role. Never once did I have a camera on with clients, nor did they have theirs on with us.

I’m generally a “default camera on but majority rules” kind of a guy, internally and definitely externally. But this is a silly thing for someone of your stature and importance to be bothered by.

If they're speaking, OK. But, I am usually dicking around taking notes and would otherwise be a distraction if I left my camera on during a remote meeting.

And Mic off, nothing more frustrating than some jackass with the Echo every time anyone says something.

The meetings-about-meetings people who need to justify their existence have 100% overlap with the people who care about stuff like this.

I didn't even have a camera on my desktop until my former boss demanded everyone had a camera and had it on for all meetings.

He was such a great boss, he got demoted and moved into gen pop.

Boomer here. I never use my camera. Too many ugly women get too close to theirs and it exaggerates their comorbidities so unsure why you would want to encourage that. Hope you and your micromanagey arrogant self get laid off with no severance.

Good thing I'm muted on Zoom right now because I just let out a good chuckle at this

Bitch move.

Please tell them that you cut him loose because he didn't turn his camera on!

The only people I've noticed make an issue out of it are the managers out of touch with the ground game. You have to be super self-conscious with an over inflated sense of self worth to be so concerned that the people on the other end of the line aren't paying attention.

Don't have meetings that should have been emails and you won't have this problem.
