I fully expect Baton Rouge to look like a dystopian future movie in 7 years if SWB sticks around that long.

Mitch already has us there.

The fire happened at 8:30 PM and it took them 6.5 hours to let people know about it.

Even Mitch's biggest apologists cannot spin this catastrophe. New Orleanians were suffering in water up to their waists while Mitch was jet-setting it in Aspen on Saturday.

But now he's back to have press conferences, his favorite thing. He also had to fire all of the people he hand-picked to run the SWB.

This is all on him. He promised us a "water feature" at the reimagined Lee Circle. Well, now we are finding out what that water feature is.

I would bet every dollar I had on the fire being caused directly due to poor maintenance.

Some reporter needs to go in dry - FOIA / sue for SWB's critical equipment list and see what quality assurance / mechanical integrity program exists on the "best system in the world". Then they need to FOIA / sue for the inspection and documentation records on all of the affected equipment.

That fact that you are 100% right is a damn shame....I wonder if the NOLA residents will continue to sit idly by while it continues.

Did it cost the government anything to allow women to vote and to allow all men use men's rooms and women use women's rooms?

NOLA.com reporting SWB is being privatized at the mayor's direction. I cannot tell you what a huge blow this is to Mitch's constituent base.

I can't get over the fact this is happening August 10th. August-October is the most risk-prone time in New Orleans (hurricanes), and they're completely clueless and leaderless.

I wish he would just say "I'm sorry" "Your government failed you, we've failed you, I've failed you" "We are working to correct this situation"

He. just. can. not. take. the. blame.

That requires a soul. Mitch doesn't have one. People with a heart and soul cannot do what Mitch has done from his horrendous personal scandals to the squandering of public funds to complete frick up we are watching now that 100% falls back on his shoulders.

He literally said:

quote:

the Sewage and Water Board, whoever sits on that, we'll find out, shares some responsibility

The stupid piece of subhuman shite doesn't even know one of his job titles is President of Board of Directors of Sewage and Water Board

The T-P and the Advocate both need to publish editorials tomorrow morning calling for Landrieu to resign effective immediately. No executive in any kind of organization could rightfully survive this type of catastrophic failure.

But Mitch is a despot (and a demagogue). It would take armed force to get him out of city hall.

Why didn't he run for mayor? That's statement made no sense.

Sounds like he saw how absolutely corrupt the city is and how entrenched the mayor's office is and just said frick that.
