Nope. My garage actually tells customers to order from tire rack and ship directly to them

My mechanic says he doesn't make any money on tires and doesn't care if i buy them online -- I still buy from him anyway.

Definitley worth it in that case, the comparison I did was Goodyear Wranglers for my truck. What car are you getting tires for?

Good for you - if it's $35 or so I usually buy for the shop I have always used. I will ask if they price match if it's over say $50

I have some vintage cars so I treat him well and he treats me well. I have to find parts about half the time.

I've bought a few sets online and had them installed locally but the last 5 or so years the locals shops are beating online in price so no reason to order

ETA: I saved a ton back in 07-12

Go to Walmart.com and you can pick almost any tire imaginable, have it shipped for free to the store of your choice, and they will put them on.

Just bought 4 tires online from tirebuyer.com
Received a 20 dollar off coupon for subscribing and had free shipping to a local installer.

Tirerack was charging 15 dollar more for the same tire and they did not offer free shipping but they did offer a mail in rebate of 50.

Called my local place and they would not match the price and wanted 100 dollars more than what I purchased online for.

I bought tires from Tirebuyer.com. Once you buy them you pick an installer near you and they are delivered there. They will call you, set an appointment for the install. Tirebuyer had the best prices too. I highly recommend.
