You do realize that's the advantages of MCM design, the lines never really go out of style, right?

I have furniture in my house from 1963, that many retailers have copied and you can buy today. It's just in style today as it was in the 1960's.

Classic lines are just that.

yep

IKEA, 2 Danes and West Elm are nothing but mid century for the most part.

The only things "mid-century" are the backsplash and the lines of the couch.

ETA formica? That, as well.

7/10.

I used to abhor modern architecture, but I have been warming up to it more and more. That said, this house isn't for me, but I can see why it appeals to some,

-I'm not a fan of the kitchen backsplash. It pops out too much in my opinion.
-I'm not a fan of the cabinets (particularly the cabinet handles). I would have changed the countertops to a butcher block style.
-I love wooden floors...just not those wooden floors.
-I really, really like the exposed beams at the top.
-I do like the "open-ness" feel of the room though...I'd want a little more natural light.

Dining room chairs, check.
Shag really didn't come out until late sixties and got really big in the 1970s, a reaction to the "clean" style of the 50s, at least as I perceived it in the mid-to-late 1970s

I don't mind it, but that mess on the kitchen backsplash has got to go.

Yep

We wanted a vintage sofa but with two small kids we needed something washable so we compromised and picked up a piece from IKEA.

My wife just finished restoring a surfboard coffee table, and now doing a Dux dining table and chairs as well as this Dux chair. We are picking vintage fabric but cannot agree on color/pattern.

I like the use of the wood and the design generally, but way too neutrally colored.

I'm building a house presently that will be mid century warm modern. At least this is what the Interior Designer calls it.

I don't really like that kitchen as it has too much wood (whoever said change the formica to butcher block)

Kenneth Brown is our interior designer and for those interested in seeing better examples of this style go here Kenneth Brown Design I really like this look but you won't see it much in the 225 but it is catching on a bit.

Beautiful. Sleek. Modern. Clean.

Only questions...I take it that's a fake fireplace? Also, is the TV to the right behind the plants?

Has anyone mentioned how awesome that backsplash is? Excellent choice for that style kitchen.

Kitchen is awful but overall looks similar to the lines in my house which is described as "rustic contemporary" with a lot of natural materials and clean lines.
