Surviving child is the middle child Gris. 3rd grade. I believe the news report about him being in the front seat is incorrect.
Physically they are ok. There will be some scars. Inconsequential scars, in the grand scheme of things..

Inconsequential from a health perspective but not inconsequential at all. Every time she looks at her skin she will be reminded of her children’s terrible death and the husband will be reminded be reminded of that every time he sees his wife without clothes on. Geez that’s just depressing as shite to think about.

INK I wonder if this was the truck driver?
The driver is 70 years old. Dr Barnes received his BS degree from Okie State in 1994. It’s possible but highly unlikely that someone who received their bachelor’s 30 years ago is 70 years old.

Very true, but by the grace of God, they don't have to deal with much physical injury as they navigate this tragic journey.
I wonder what caused the guy to rear end them so hard. Whatever it was, it's going to be hell for him to live with as well. A different kind of hell, though.

I think they will be reminded of these losses every day regardless of physical scars. Scars won't be the catalyst. The losses will. Let's pray they learn eventually to live with this grief. I have no idea how to that with the loss of a child, much less 2.

Glad I had the wrong info on the mother. Thanks!

Hate to speculate, but just seems classic texting and driving.

You hate to speculate but then you speculate? Why can’t you ppl just not speculate? How do you know he was doing anything wrong? How do you know it wasn’t a simple case of truck driver coming around a curve and there is a car sitting there trying to turn or another simple cause of the common things that cause accidents between trucks and cars every day?

Was not the case.

It could be various scenarios but there’s no need to speculate he was texting and driving a 70 year old man at that. Let the investigation take its course and see what the report says

The article said she went to make a left onto Buckles Rd when she got hit from behind.

I’ve never dealt with anything like this but I have dealt with something that was extremely traumatic in my life and my father in law sat me down and said this to me and it’s true. “This is horrible and nothing can make it better but know every day you’re going to think about this and it will hurt. Try to be ready for the hurt so you can deal with it as best as possible. “

Prayers for this family. The grief and pain are just unimaginable. May God give them peace, rest and comfort.

I’m from the area and know the scenario.
Your objection is noted.
And absolutely NOWHERE did I say he did anything wrong. I am guilty of texting and driving. But these things don’t happen in a vacuum, he was traveling at a high rate of speed, and CLEARLY did not see them otherwise we’d be talking about the overturned farm truck and this family wouldn’t be experiencing a living nightmare.
So try not to be too offended, guy, this affects you ZERO if I had to guess.
My family knows these people well… do you?

Did I say that you said he did anything wrong? No, I didn’t. My post was about your previous post literally being “I hate to speculate.” Followed by a speculative statement of “sounds like a classic case of texting and driving.”

Were you in the cab with the driver, did you hear the driver giving his side of the story to the police, or is this more speculation on your part?

Yes. I personally know Dr Thompson and his wife. I never met their children though. I also know the driver of the truck and the family of the truck driver.

Was the Dr. from Monroe and did he have a few older brothers by chance? I swear I know him and I think went to high school with his older brother.
Oh and there is no way I would ever be able to drive by the accident scene ever again. Talk about bringing up some painful scars. For sure we are praying for everyone including the truck driver. He may get labeled as the villain here but this man is going to be dealing with some emotional baggage for the rest of his life as well.

I’m sorry for what he is going through as well. I’ll say no more about it.
