The sad part is that she's the one the NBR folks look up to the most. Mostly because she spews a bunch of ignorant shite that the NBR folks eat up because they're just as ignorant as she is. Chauna thinks the MC is some giant piggy bank meant to dole out public money to anyone that asks for it. In 10 years, the MC will be majority Chaunas.
Per Chauna:

Over time, I’m going to lay out: 1) the similar traits between Tara Wicker and Judas Iscariot, 2) the real reason Tara Wicker is aligning herself against the 4 Democrats, 3) signs Tara Wicker and Sharon Weston Broome will be jocking for Republican support, leaving Democrats with minimum representation and support.
Her entire FB right now is nothing but attacking Tara.
I feel bad for the residents of BR that must put up with her on a regular basis. I can see why Wilson and others are tired of the council and the BS. It's not worth the name calling and vile hate thrown their way.

That's just a taste of what's to come. I guarantee those 4 MC members will eventually cross each other and you'll see this tactic again. It's the exact reason they'll never get anywhere.

IF SG happens, I feel horrible for people like my sister and BIL that live in Bocage. They will instantly become the minority and nothing they can do to save themselves besides move.

Yep, and anyone representing that area will be public enemy #1. There will absolutely be a push to get areas like that to be the piggybank for the city in the name of "justice".

Before the shitshow we saw at the MC 2 weeks ago, I would have considered moving back to BR if the next project is what I think it will be. Even if I take a different project overseas, I was debating buying a condo around the LSU area that way later in life I could still have it for LSU sporting events/family stuff. Now, unless St. George does happen, you will not see me even consider property in EBR.

Wish I could vote for her...Hope she runs for Governor and beats Dumbell Edwards. Then she can look at the racist idiots who were once her sistas and bros and sing out loud, Bye, Bye Blackbirds!

Say that they actually recall her. Does the election immediately follow, or does the Metro Council get to appoint her temporarary replacement? Can you imagine if out of spite they appointed a WHITE REPUBLICAN?

Gravy wants to make a run in 2020...hilarious. Shouldn't a qualification to run be employed?

That would be the absolute best irony if it happened. I believe their would have to be an election to recall but I don't know if that follows with an immediate vote for a replacement or if the MC would have to appoint.

It may happen sooner rather than later if Mike McClanahan, Ted James, and the local NAACP get their way, and the city/parish government is separated. You'll have Broome, or another race baiter like her, presiding over a city council full of Chaunas and/or Gravys, whose main goal will be to stick it to the white folks who have decided to ride it out. It will be bad news for LSU as well, because what parent would want to send their child to college in a Detroit-esque environment? I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

Counterpoint: The only place in Baton Rouge I repeatedly see town halls w/the local city counsel rep is in Tara's district. Every few months there is a sign on Nicholson saying come talk to her.

Let’s be honest. Gravy hasn’t run in years.....

Tara Wicker for mayor
Does the strategy now for South BR become to vote for Wicker in the primary and hope for the D/D "Wicker-Broome" run off? (Note: this sounds like one of those old Jay Leno skits where they laughed at wedding announcements for involving two last names that are both words in their own right).
On the Wicker-Broome "Double D" runoff:
Wicker carries: SBR, Old South BR, Downtown, Mid-City
Broome carries: North BR
Problem might be white turnout in SBR, but Dem turnout might be suppressed too since they may view the D/D as a "win-win". This may in turn help some Republican causes down-ballet. With Broome killing some of Kip's plans, Kip may put his weight (along with the Amoroso estate) on team Wicker.
On a "Broome-Candidate X" Runoff:
Old South BR goes to Broome, SBR to Candidate X, NBR to Broome, and Downtown and Mid-City are the wildcards (just like last election).
Gut feel would be Candidate X wins these areas if he/she remains business, growth, and free market focused, but loses if they run as a "True" conservative (i.e. the type of conservative that puts the word 'conservative' in all their advertisements and billboards). Moderates/Libertarian whites under 40 all get pushed to the left in that scenario.

I feel like this board needs an EBR municipal government 101 lesson.
1. The Metro Council presides over the entire Parish. Including the municipalities of Baton Rouge, Baker, Zachary, Central, and the future St. George.
2. The Mayor-President presides over the entire Parish. Including the municipalities of Baton Rouge, Baker, Zachary, Central, and the future St. George. There are some exceptions as it relates to city-specific services in the smaller municipalities.
3. The creation of St. George does nothing to the makeup of the Metro Council or the election of the Mayor President. If anything, it's creation will aid in a stronger voting bloc of conservatism in the Parish.
4. The Metro Council's current 7-5 split is pretty much etched in stone barring some massively drastic demographic shifts. In 2016, of the 7 republican districts:
- 1 ran unopposed
- 4 won the jungle primary, with the lowest republican % of votes at 66%
- 2 won their runoff, one against another republican, the other with 67% of the vote

The basis of the recall petition is laughable. Tara is, by far, the most committed and dedicated of the 12 to their district. The other person who could have kept up with her was Buddy Amoroso.

I have considered moving back more in recent years as my parents age, but when I see stuff like this going on, it makes me cringe. I know that I shouldn't let it bother me as much as it does, but I have doubts about moving back to such a toxic environment. I'm getting married next year and, although I might be able to talk my fiancé into it (her family is from NOLA), I'm not sure how I feel about staying in BR and raising a family there.
