Spent my 21st birthday in Bozeman. Unfortunately, I haven't been back since.

Moved from BR in 2000 to Bozeman. Lived in several different places since then, but now we are back, and its been great. Sitting on my porch looking at the neighborhood pond with a couple of dozen folks enjoying the sand beach and water.

All the schools are rated a 10, no crime, people live to be young, plenty of service industry jobs, beautiful mountains, friendly people, plenty of folks with lsu ties, bike and hiking trails, rivers to enjoy and great bar scene.

You are more than welcome to contact me if you néed help with a job or a place to live. Our office phone number is 406-551-4982. Ask for Burke.

Came here to post this, but way too late. The OP, nor I, have any clue what a real winter is like. If I spit and it shatters in the wind or freezes to my goatee on contact, I am out!

The OP may actually have lived in a climate like that, so I don't know.

I do know one guy who went mountain man after a divorce and mid life crisis. Moved to Montana. Made 2 immediate winter errors. Did not know when to apply chains to his vehicle tires. Also, did not know when to light his fireplace. Apparently had a front blow through while he was working. His home/cabin only had a fireplace (I can't imagine) he got home and froze his balls off waiting for a fireplace to heat his home.

If you like your food spicy to just seasoned well, bring a few cases of hot sauce. Love the country, the people though mostly all "cowboy" types, are friendly, but the food, speaking as a South La. cajun can be bland.

By percent of total population Montana has less muslims than every state in the country. Just saying.

Bozeman gets a few arctic outbreaks where it can be cold. Outside of that, normal daytime highs are not bad. It's not as cold as the upper Midwest.
