I miss Hot N Now. They were basically the testing ground for new products for Taco Bell. It was so weird going into a fast food joint in the southeast that only had Pepsi products.

Hotn'Now was my go to on a high school budget. I could easily get a whole meal for $2. Fries were only like 49cents in the mid 90s

Ponderosa....if only those closed doors could speak. As a kid my parents took me there and I constantly bitched about the foul stank of my dad’s French onion sou ( ironically now my favorite soup) while I had this concoction of some butter into a bowl under a roll topped with spaghetti sauce. As I grew up I started eating the sirloin tips.

And then back in the day we’d have Thursday practice, attend chapel after we showered, and then invaded the place. Looking back I feel kind of bad for those stupid enough to be there that night and wanted to enjoy the buffet. Each one of us went up there and just grabbed the whole buffet container to take back to our third of the place for family style eating. Most times they then kept splitting refills between the buffet and our tables. We also ended up with waitresses (usually female classmates) who spent the whole time among us catering to our every request. The night before what was our last games we asked for the spiraling kid straws and cleaned them out. Man I miss those days. It was a Catholic high school but we had so much fun after hours.

Man I miss Suncoast/Sam Goody

Also, frick the landlord of the building that housed FYE in BR next to Chilis.

The store was still profitable despite streaming, but the landlord was greedy.

The building is still for rent, and I like to think that the landlord has been forced to panhandle on Corporate and will soon get AIDS raped.

Taco Tico in Kenner is still open. Ate there last week for lunch. Still tastes the same.

The national chain sells their sauces and cooked ground beef online.

I used to stop by here when doing pull ups of beer for Budweiser back in 1995.

Another grocery store bit the dust.

Kenny Roger's Roasters was pretty damn good from what I recall. I miss that stuff.

Apparently they still exist all over Asia and the Middle East. And one in California.
