What's insane is that there is a 50 page thread on this.

Lots of unintelligible rambling. Maybe he was pretending to be a New Orleans resident that supports the monument removal. Nonetheless, there was a certain word posted a few times that black people take offense too, although he used @!#$%^$#%^ to cover up some of the letters.

They are putting a metal plate on top of the plywood for the outriggers. Who in the actual frick came up with this plan. That shite can easily slide right the frick down the hill.

Doesn't a project of this magnitude typically require a pretty detailed set of plans and specifications?

If you can move the outrigger base by hand with one person, it's not a good base. Just throwing that out there.

Mitch don't give a frick. The food for the party will spoil before all that can be done.

We almost always used 4x4's as cribbing with a 1/2" or 3/4" steel plate on top, and made damn sure the ground we were working off of was level.

These guys...

Yeah, it's pretty much jaw dropping. Almost a slap in the face.

Nah, there were posters on here yesterday stating that an engineered set of plans was unnecessary. These guys know what they're doing.

It would appear if you want a monument to stay up, build it on a hill and high up. At least to stop these idiots.

Those tactics would have made Lee proud. If he would have employed those same tactics at Gettysburg, they might be speaking southern redneck in New England today.

I still don't think that crane is even big enough, with how much the statue weighs and how for the boom will need to extend.

The further you extend the boom, the less weight it can handle.

Negative ghost rider. I won't be mad. However it's obvious no one is doing a JSA, or there is no safety official on site. If something goes wrong on this pick someone will lose their life.

The number one rule is, If it's not safe do not do it. Construction workers want to go home to their families at night just the same as anyone else.
