Your first sentence is nonsense, the second is closer to the mark but misguided. As to the first, the EP brought about enticement it was an invitation for thousands of slaves to secure freedom by escaping to the Union lines. This is often called "self-emancipation" and it was to a certain extent, but it wouldn't have been an option without the EP. You can read A Slave No More: Two Men Who Escaped to Freedom, Including Their Own Narratives of Emancipationfor two such amazing stories. Secondly, people often don't realize this part of the EP: "And I further declare and make known that such persons of suitable condition will be received into the armed service of the United States to garrison forts, positions, stations, and other places, and to man vessels of all sorts in said service." These two new policies - a call for black enlistment and enticement- turns Union soldiers into an army of liberation in the seceded states. (Read Freedom National: The Destruction of Slavery in the United States, 1861-1865) As to the second part, the EP was seen as a war measure, as was the First and Second Confiscation Acts (of which most people aren't aware) Lincoln believed he didn't have legal justification to free the slaves in the border states.
You ignored the fact that the North was pro-slavery up until technology advanced to the point their services were not needed. Winners write the history books. Of course they are going to slant it like they were the "good guys".
When in reality, it was not an altruistic gesture--it was a selfish one, otherwise they would have 'condemned slavery' prior to being an automated manufacturing powerhouse (which the south was not). They held all the cards & didn't care about equity in a North-South "union"
If anything, they saw it as an opportunity to leverage their newfound autonomy against the South without any regard to their economic well-being. The North never cared to advise the South on how they could successfully transition from slavery into a new economy-- their plan was to dictate & exploit.
Where did they propose the slaves' families go when they were freed? Just running around in the hot sun, jobless & starving? Yea that would have worked out well for all parties involved. A transition was needed...
What work would they find? Likely the same work they had at slave plantations, but housing will not paid for anymore. Clearly, they should have enacted strict laws against the extremely inhumane treatment of workers (slaves), paid them a living wage to where they could eventually earn their own land, & become free. Many would have signed up for that job, because it came with free housing. A much better fate than what would have happened to them had the African warlords that conquered them chose not to sell them!
And finally, if the South was so much more evil against black folk back then, why are the biggest concentration of them still living in the South by a large factor compared to the North?

That's more or less 15 officers sitting on the trailer. If they are on a detail, thats probably $50/hr each. If someone wants to do the math, I bet there is at least twice as many officers there.

The Bitch party is supposed to start in 3.5 hours.
I don't think REL is going to make it on time.

NYNolaguy1, Liebherr would have to shut down at 20 mph, right?
It's up to the jurisdiction- at least up here. NYC has their own set of rules regarding cranes. We just did the engineering for them, not the operations.
That said I doubt they will follow any of the rules even if there were any to follow in New Orleans.

get some ATF fluid and some acetone and do a 50/50 mixture at it will be better than just about anything you buy off of the shelf.

He also is mispronouncing Beauregard. A waitress at Superior Seafood corrected my pronunciation when I ordered a Beauregard drink once. "No, it's Bo-RE-guard." Her two weeks in town made her an expert.
