It's an interesting thought, and it would be poetic justice and hilariously fitting if it could be accomplished, but there are a lot of impediments. The city would have to sell/give the statues to said benefactor first. I do not think the city is going to give these statues to anyone interested in keeping them in the city. They'll end up in Mississippi or some other state, that is, if they are not stolen or destroyed first.
Also, as sculpture art, they are worth millions. How dumb is the city for storing them in an open lot? Granted, they are so big they would be hard to steal, but someone with the right equipment could theoretically do it.

Just listened to 1230 WBOK and the host was clamering on about the statutes need to come down when an older Black lady called in and asked so what happens next? She wanted to know if this was going to fix everything or was this just going to divide the city. The radio host didn't know what to say because she called this for what it is a pandering session.
