Oh we left already. We sold our prime time spot on the corner of Jackson square years ago.

You should just leave. Without those statues, New Orleans just isn't New Orleans anymore.

I bet the murder rate will stay the same or increase after REL is dropped off in the NOPD junkyard

Did a hipster buy your home to save NOLA yet? Or did black folks murder it?

Are you saying the murders, the drugs, the piss poor maintenance of the streets and infrastructure weren't enough?

I haven't been to NO since before Katrina, for those reasons. It's a shithole.

And as far as pandering to us, it's not that.. it's not about pandering at all

If one could go back in time and stop the events that transpired in that South Carolina church do you honestly believe these statues would be coming down?

Not sure who bought it. I was still a little kid. Sucks, it was a perfect spot. But I promise it wasn't a hipster or black folk.. Cost way too much.

Can we all agree that there is no way the costs of this stayed at anywhere under 2 million. Mitch's cut alone was probably close to 600K.

There will be mutiple entries in the books of undefined miscellaneous accelerated costs

If you consider junkyards a museum, yes.

That depends on what you call museums. They are now in an abandoned car lot close to NO East. Chickasaw and Alvar.

I know. Its amazing how many people are offended by history.

Much less history of the losing side??!!?!? I don't know which is worse, those getting offended that the statues are up or those crying that statues of the losing generals are coming down.

Don't understand how y'all can be mad at the workers, blame mitch

How many qualified contractors are there that didn't bid the job on principle? How many bakers have there been that have been taken to court for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding?

You value your overtime pay more than your belief that the statues should not be taken down. You have put a dollar value on your beliefs. I don't know what that dollar value is, and I don't know what your situation is, but that's something you will have to live with the rest of your life.

Everyone has a price and it's hard for anyone to to put themselves in your shoes. You must realize that part of that price of being one of the workers is that there will be people mad at you, and there will be people that applaud you. Which side would you like to be associated with for the rest of your life?

So how long has Mitch been mayor? When is the next election and do people think he'll be elected again or no way?
