Isn't Robin a "boy?" I feel certain he's called the "boy wonder," and that his association with Batman was intended as something juvenile readers could relate to.

If you haven't heard the "Blackman and Robin" bits that used to run on Bubba the Love Sponge's shows. They are in Apple music. They knew all along about Robin. Some funny stuff in those shows.
