If you don't work out on a regular basis, start. I honestly don't feel like drinking on days that I work out. Just makes me feel like all the effort I put out in the gym went to waste if I do.

don't work for me. I think about how nice that cold beer will taste as soon as I finish that hotass run.

Yeah there tends to be two types of mentalities: either you don't drink when you work out because why waste the effort you put in, or you do drink because you feel like you've earned the right to that day.

Both have their merits, I just happen to be in the first camp.

Haha, same for me. The whole time I'm trying to get through a super long run I'm thinking about how good and guiltless a 12 pack is going to be later.

I have had the urge before to stop drinking, but then I wise up and realize its better to take a pause for awhile as thats more realistic. Especially during football season.

Not an alcoholic? Then you were just a problem drinker and should find no problem quitting the booze.

Problem quitting the booze? Then you are an alcoholic and need to go to an AA meeting. People on this board bash those meetings but they have helped MILLIONS of people quit drinking and have shown them how to have fun when not drinking.

I quit myself and life is TONS better without alcohol. The LSU games are better, family interaction is better, job is better, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

You ever hear of a functioning alcoholic?

And it's not about those things around you. It's about you and how you percieve those things around you.

The dude finds himself watching a houseguest blow another dude, but he's never embarrassed his kids.

Pot is the only solution

Although, I bought my first beer in a long time. It's not bad

I don't drink anymore. It became easier when I gravitated towards new friends. I normally drink coffee when everybody is having a beer, wine, or a cocktail. It wasn't really that difficult to give up honestly, but alcohol was never something that I struggled with. It was merely something that I did when I was with my friends. Smoking, both right and left handed, was a lot more difficult to give up for me.

Agree with the previous poster. Life is better, and I do not regret it.
