At my high school, our bookbags had to be either clear or mesh in order to carry around all day. If they weren't, we had to put them in locker beginning of day, and just carry around our books manually until the school day is over.
I wonder what are the particulars of the ban of the school in the op. Are they not allowed to bring bags at all, or can they just not carry it around during the school day.

Grenada County Schools in Mississippi has had solid backpacks banned since the late 90s and have metal detectors in the high school.
See through (transparent) backpacks and trapper keepers were our only options.

If you read their bios, only 2 of them have school age children and only one mentions having kids in the the district.
Not to poliboard it, but Matt Walsh from the Daily Wire has taken to protesting at School Board meetings and it’s been shocking at how many of them don’t actually have any kids in the district.
