Announced early dismissal. I won't be surprised by a midnight text that they changed their minds like last time

God forbid a serious tornado hit a school with children in it.

I was in school at St Thomas More in Baton Rouge in 1971 when a tornado touched down at the school and collapsed part of the church roof. It was frightening because we were in the church at the time. Luckily, the collapse was in a corner away from the students and no one was hurt.

My kids school, St Michael, is having a half day of virtual. these kids will never have a “snow day or hurricane day” since virtual is a thing.

In the 90s, schools didn’t cancel for anything like this. What a bunch of pansies running this world.

Lol …Freaking earth could have split open and swallowed up half of south Louisiana in the 1980’s and my High School and LSU would have stayed open. They close down for shite that might happen today.

For bad weather they used to pull us at of class and into the gym. During the storm sometimes

It's also a strain on parents if they have to end up sending kids home from school early. Parents are working, may not be able to get off to come get them, etc. Then if those buses are driving kids out in that weather, along with all the parents on the roads trying to get their children, you never know what could happen. The schools know that people are lawsuit happy these days. Just easier to cancel the whole day.
