Good place to start it the typical radar you're used to seeing. Find storms there and then use the red/green stuff. You're usually looking for something that forms a hook on the south or southwestern side of the storm. The velocity maps can help confirm a tornado, but it usually occurs in the immediate vicinity of the yin-yang red and green areas.
Think small scale on the radar, not the wide swaths of red and green that touch.

Radar in Slidell at NOAA was just taken out by a massive lightening strike.
Can confirm we haven't gotten any radar data since 2252z

A lot of red next to green just means rotation. It can be quite broad. With a tornado, you see a tight and bright coupling.

My friend lives a block from there.
Was that just wind, or a tornado?

I said a few pages back that Margaret must really love her job. She's been on the edge of an orgasm all day.
She's a neat lady IRL, IMO. Used to pop into the bar/restaurant I worked at some years ago. Sharp cookie with great energy in geneal.

Not sure, but it was right in the path of the tornado that WDSU was reporting over Manchac through Madisonville

Central La now has a threat. The cell passing through Natchitoches looks like a player.

He just texted me when I sent the pic.
He's on the river, about a block from the bridge.
I guess he's fine, because he didn't say anything about his place being messed up. Must have just been gusts that did that damage.
