Both the mayor and chief were doing damage control for that restaurant. How horrible to have that happen in your business, or be a patron and that happen.
No doubt some a-hole plaintiff attorney will file suit against the restaurant on behalf of the victims of the shooting.

How much you want to bet that when they get him we’ll learn that he has multiple violent felonies on his rap sheet? Jason prolly turned him loose a few times.

fricking stupid.
Buncha goombas shaking everybody down and acting tough, just a slightly more civilized version of what’s on the streets now.
“Hey oh you disrespecting me? Baddaboom I’ll put a bullet in ya frickin head!”

That place used to shut down and armor up with shutters and iron gates at sundown. I’m shocked that anybody was able to enter at 8pm.

Believe there was a private event in the back room.

Sounds like they got the full experience.
Was their car stolen by the valet?

Well, did the restaurant have any security? Given its location that may have been prudent. Such a lawsuit may not be far fetched.

It’s a New Orleans institution but the projects are literally across the street and if you turn the other direction it’s only worse
You can’t in good faith send out of towners there - which makes it awkward that it’s featured in every tourist guide

Side note. When did Riverwalk parking become a flat rate event fee of 40? I was here a couple months ago and it was still time based .
Probably due to the large cheerleading event at the convention center next door

Show me ONE democrat mayor that has fixed urban problems in the last 25 years - on a scale of what Rudy did in NYC. Dems as a whole would rather pass blame and make excuses than solve problems.

Are you referring to "Dooky Chase"? If so, it was opened in 41 in its current location by Emile and Dooky Chase and was taken over by Dooky's son and daughter-in-law, Edgar "Dooky" Chase Jr. and Leah Chase.
And since their deaths, it is now run by their children, grandchildren and extended family members.

I know Gabrielle down the street has an armed guard outside.

The most surprising/alarming thing about this is the name of the restaurant.

He was. By a lot. But I don't share all the optimism over Moreno. It's going to be more of the same.
