Because most people on here are either Protestants or Catholics and they hate the Church of Latter Day Saints

Ok maybe not hate, but they still don’t like the LDS because of how they practice things like polygamy as well as how they track down their members to make sure they’re still part of the Church.

I'd rather live around Mormons than any other denomination and/or Atheists.

Theyre good people.

More so the fact that Mormons aren’t Christians.

Exactly, I guess that's my point in the end. Definitely would live among them.

Why is this downvoted? Mormons do many great things and are friendly people. Go to Utah and youll meet people even nicer than the south. Every time I go, nice people and no preaching. I consider myself moderate and probably disagree with them on some social issues but looking around society today, I wont fault them one bit.

They do tend to be nice and overall good people. But they believe in something other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ so they’re not actually Christians. Even Muslims believe in Christ, but just believing He existed doesn’t make one Christian. To be a Christian you have to believe Jesus Christ is the resurrected Son of God and the one and only source of salvation through His grace. Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light. No one enters into the Father except through Me.” Muslims don’t believe that and neither do Mormons. Both are works based religions and thus not Christian.

So all non-Christians go to hell. Even the billions of Hindus and Buddhists that have lived generations while following their own faith.

I've always enjoyed this one.

I literally believe in Jesus Christ as savior of the world. Redeemer of sins.

I’m Mormon. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How do you define a Christian?

Anything except what you just described, apparently

You sound like a tabloid. Polygamy was outlawed by the LDS in 1890 and I know Mormons who were married in the Salt Lake Temple who are no longer active in the church and no one has ever asked them about it. Still live in SLC, so it's not like they had to escape, either

I guess the point is who cares about what is or is not a Christian.

If you believe what the Gospel of Jesus Christ says, there really isn’t any wiggle room is there? He said “I am the Way”. He said “the”, not “a”. That means, if you believe what Jesus said is true, then you believe only by accepting His grace, can you enter Heaven. Now it’s up to each of us to either believe Him or not. But that is what He said. It’s literally the bedrock foundation of Christianity. It’s the core principle of the religion.

If you don’t like that, then take it up with Him. Those are His words, not mine. Either you believe Him or you don’t. We are all free to choose.

I’m not what you’re trying to get at here. Are you wanting to argue theology or something?

Polygamy is pretty much legal in Utah. It’s been decriminalized and they only give you a fine if caught

And? How does that refute what he said? Those that practice polygamy are either not members of the church or practicing in secret and face excommunication if found out.

To give you a timeline comparison, the writing of the Gospels and the "quotes" for Jesus of Nazareth is comparable to writing a book about George Washington where no transcripts exist and trying to quote the man today.

You know who else thinks everyone else is wrong and is doomed to eternal hellfire? Radical Muslims.

My God is not that narrow-minded. Sucks that yours is.

I was just pointing that out. And yes, Mormons technically aren’t “Christians” despite believing in Jesus and God. The founder, Joseph Smith, basically wrote his own scripture that had nothing in common with the original Bible. So it’s technically a cult despite them believing in Jesus and God

Technically, all religions start as cults.
