Solar may be the future, but why should I pay for someone else's future with my tax money when we also need to fund colleges, build roads, and provide healthcare for the indigent?

They are still available but limited. The folks who sell them can go over the ins and outs. Be careful who you use though. I highly recommend South Coast Solar. They put up with my questions for over a month before I bought them. They reed planned everything to me several times. Getting the solar system has been one of the best decisions I've made as a home owner

I hope your house never catches fire if you have an array of solar panels on your roof. The fire dept may have a little problem with getting electrocuted while attempting to douse the flames.

Other than that and the fact that unless you have a bank of batteries to store the electricity, they will be useless during a protracted outage.

Solar Panels Experiences?

I thought it was really illuminating at first. But Betelgeuse got all red hot mad. Sirius was always not in the mood for a joke. And the Sun was pretty lame compared to every other one there.

So, my experience on the solar panel was...allight.

So what happens to these panels when a hail storm hits?

The company cuts you a check for $5000 when they are installed.

This is illegal and the reason the state subsidies are being cut. Screwing it up for everyone else. Thank you and the shady company you did business with.

We got some panels from Joule on our house. You can only really see them from the side so there's no "ugly" effect. We've already gotten to sell some energy back to the grid.

Yeah, it'll still be some time before it breaks even with the savings, but I believe solar is the way to go. We're just waiting on the energy storage technology to improve (ex. Tesla Powerwall) and we'd never need to use a generator.
