I'd love to know where you draw the line on that one with your 6 year old and other adults.

It's not cussing he has a problem with. It's taking the Lord's name in vain. A habit he doesn't want his son to become accustomed to hearing and in turn think it's ok to do. How's that so wrong?

God

Damn

It

Is a prayer to God, asking Him to damn the OP's sons's sorry arse play to hell and give him a set of skills that can actually help the team.

OP is upset because coach used God Dammit towards his son, who is the worst player on the team, then benched him and now the team is on a 4 game win streak.

Kick his arse in front of his son and show him how a real man acts.

I would just mention that you thought you heard GD and if he agrees, say you'd like for your kid not to hear that. He should be fine with it.

From my experience kids with parents like this guy complaining about the use of the word God Damn have a very difficult time later on in life assimilating with other kids and adults are often left behind because they are more worried about religious indoctrination than teaching the child to know the difference between what is really right and wrong in this world.

A lot of experience in this? Folks with religion are having a tough time getting through life?

If you as a coach get supremely angry at 6yo boys that are learning to play the game you should not be out there coaching.

This. We're talking about kids that can barely tie their own shoes. And this guy is dropping GD bombs at them because they're setting sloppy picks.

This is the supreme failure of Generation X; over involvement with youth sports and schools. That will be their legacy.

I agree, inappropriate.

Is the child having fun? Is the coach teaching fundamentals and doing a good job, otherwise? If he is, I'd mention it to the coach. He'll understand.

He's a good coach. The team wins. My son is one of the league's premeir players - he's learning the games. Obviously I'm a baseball expert, so I don't pretend like I could do a better job.

Thanks for all the serious responses. I'm planning on getting with a few other fathers to perhaps speak with Tycoon after a practice.
