I get it but
Wow. They need a new spokesperson. I think he just proved the discrimination argument for the other side.

Why so much uproar about someone wanting to live in a better area of town?
Maybe these people are trying their best to maintain employment but keep on getting beat down by their redneck boss.
Maybe these people enjoy the job they have but unfortunately does not pay well so the government steps in and helps out.
In New Orleans they have the "artist lofts" which are pretty much section 8 and I never hear New Orleans residents complaining about the benefits these people receive.
It sucks how a small group of bad seeds can ruin everything for a whole demographic.
Small group? More like the "large group" ruins it for legitimate needs.

Your stance is so fricked up. If you can't afford it, MOVE TO ANOTHER AREA. It's pretty simple. If I work hard to live in a nice neighborhood and am successful, I don't want someone who isn't paying their fair share living next to me. It's horse shite.

There are a lot more good people in the group we are talking about than bad.

I think he's just trolling Southdowns IRL. People should settle down. He's clearly just some shithead stirring the pot.

sounds like this is blowing up in his face. would you rather students or section 8?

Maybe a few underemployed renaissance men is what the Southdowns neighborhood needs. lol
But I do see what you mean but unfortunately times have changed and you are the minority in your city now.
You can always move to Livingston or Ascension

However, this is exactly the kind of shite the Obama administration wants to do, on a much larger scale.

It's not like these "down on their luck" people saved their money so they could move into an affordable home in a nice neighborhood. The federal government is paying their rent to live in a home that I probably couldn't afford in a nice neighborhood while providing zero oversight, zero incentive to maintain the property, zero incentive to get a job, zero incentive not to just be a shitty human being. I have seen Section 8 destroy neighborhoods because not even really a minority of the users, the MAJORITY of them abuse it and abuse not only the properties they inhabit, but their neighbors' properties as well.
First comes the section 8. Then comes the loud parties and the property falling into disrepair. Next, the home values in the neighborhood start to fall due to the shitty rental property and general shady behavior starts occurring at night (casing peoples houses, stalking women walking their dogs at night, stealing items from unlocked cars, ect). Then, the crime ramps up with break-ins while people are at work, people breaking into locked cars, copper thefts from AC units, ect. Bars start to go up on peoples' windows and property values go into freefall. The prices fall low enough that slumlords buy up properties to convert into more section 8 housing. Then, the real fun starts: violent home invasions, muggings, murders, assaults, rape, and arson. At this point, the last of those in the neighborhood that can afford to leave, do so, and the neighborhood is left to the devices of the parasites that destroyed the host. A beautiful neighborhood has just been converted into a slum, and in as little as 5 years time.

He's mad at Southdowns for trying to prevent his slumlording. Dude's a total a-hole.

the biggest problem is that the property values will fall and people will loose money. thats what it comes down to.
oh and letting lower class people live around upper class is just a no no.

Also, people of all races and backgrounds need housing assistance. I am white and have 2 college degrees, and I had to have FHA assistance to buy my house.

Sounds like Dawn Simms wasted time getting shitty degrees. She also seems unaware that subsidies like section 8 artificially raise and, thus, the cost of housing. She may not have needed subsidies to buy her home if no one had them.
