Step 1: Never under any circumstances agree to purchase, donate, or otherwise exchange funds with anyone who cold calls you. Live by this rule. Make it so ingrained in your psyche that even your most dementia addled self will not break this rule.
Step 2: Convince every other person on the planet to agree to do the same.

I was having this problem a while back, 25-40 calls a day.
This worked for me, I get zero now
block unwanted calls on your iPhone, Settings > Phone to Silence Unknown Callers, which sends unsaved numbers to voicemail, and use carrier/third-party apps for spam filtering, like enabling them in Call Blocking & Identification settings to silence or send spam calls to voicemail.

I did that once. This was several years ago, but I answered and the woman said she was a microsoft rep.. She pretty much told me I had some type of bug in windows so I kept asking her questions. She told me that it could be fixed but it would cost x amount.. I acted like she had me hooked and then told her "I have a mac. I don't use windows idiot!". The only thing it did was waste some of their time, but I am sure there were some sad saps who probably paid thinking it was really microsoft.
Excellent work.

I wonder if people are going to eventually get to what my plan is.
When this phone dies, I'm done with phones. I will have a stripped down "smart" phone that I need to have for the sake of work and logging into stuff. Basically a MFA machine.
Aside from that, no phone.
Music will be from a refurbished Ipod. Internet will be on my desktop computer.
I will not have a phone unless company issued.
This thing has completely monopolized my life.

It sucks. I get 5-6 a day and all my voicemails are scam advertisements. 50k loan,10k Tax credit, etc
About 2months ago, I started getting those. Bank loans, etc. I get about 10 a day. Calls, voice mails and texts. Out of control. I am also getting them about my insurance on my VW car. Which I dont have.
Unfortunately for me, my cell number is my business number and is plastered all over the web to advertise my business. I get tons of calls and I really need to answer them. Not answering them could be a missed charter or sale.

With the new iOS update and Verizon filter, I am down to relatively zero spam calls.

I’ve noticed the same over the past few weeks, I literally get 4–5 calls a day from numbers with a 713 area code, which is Houston proper.
First few days, I would answer them to avoid missing a client calling me if by chance I did not have your phone number stored in my phone, however, most of the time it was a roofing company or an aftermarket extended warranty company wanted to sell me a policy for my car.
Annoying AF

Spam Calls Are OOC
Damn right they are and in second place of things that are out of control would have to be the overuse of acronyms for basic simple words. Seriously...would a few extra keystrokes kill you?

Well the sad part is that enough people fall for this crap it will just continue. How can people still get scammed?

Because I'm the Point of Contact for my 88 year old father (in memory care), I get at least 4 spam calls per day about some sort of Medicare BS.
