I’m on a full acre and would gladly sell it to you for $200,000.

EA is just as good an option with far less students.

Stay away from EA though.
Why is that I wonder?
My son went there and several relatives. I graduated from EA and all my closest friends. All have excelled!

Either is very good.
My kid just graduated from DTHS, great test scores, great teachers, great extracurricular.
The weak links in Ascension parish are not the schools.

I went here...and I sent all 3 of my kids to Dutchtown. None of my catholic alum sent their kids there. That should tell you all you need to know.

Especially if your kid can/ will enroll in AP and Honors courses.
Both STA and EA have block scheduling which is way better than Dutchtown.

This narrative was created by the people who owned land around where Dutchtown High was built. Lines were redrawn once the new school was built to protect these fiefdoms (St Amant included), and maximize the value of land. The realtors then perpetuated the myth in order to build momentum for the growth has occurred.
Now this group of folks in Dutchtown and Prairieville are disappointed because there was no plan for the growth that occurred. Funny, the government entity in the Parish which could handle planning for that type of growth is the city of Gonzales.
It will be interesting to see how the Conway and Heritage Crossing developments in the City of Gonzales continue to come to form. Both are well planned developments in which the developers are putting money in to improve current infrastructure.

the schools aren't far from each other, the kids grew up knowing each other, especially if they played sports. its foolish to think they aren't partying with one another on the weekends

From just a pure standpoint on which school is better, there is no single right answer. Both are great schools. Education is one thing that Ascension Parish does right.

They need to 4 lane Hwy 44 to make up for the plant traffic that makes that road completely useless at shift change every evening. Same thing with Hwy 74 and Hwy 73. During turnarounds, it is absolutely miserable to be trapped on at rush hour.

Wow, you literally could not be more wrong. They are four laning the section of Hwy 44 in front of Conway to Loosemore and adding a full traffic circle at the Conway entrance. Get your facts straight. Don’t just listen to the neighborhood rumor mill.
