100% terrorism. No other explanation.

Just saw this on Tune In. No damn way that was not arson.
I'm sure the ATF and FBI will be all over this.

Electrical and hvac related probably are more likely than arson

Edited* - I take it back and apologize for being insensitive to grieving folks. —I just wish they paid taxes like everyone else. Same for billionaire corporations.— I was talking about churches being exempt from paying taxes. I was speaking generally, not anything to do with any church in particular.

It was a beautiful church, not some gaudy ostentatious ode to Greek-Roman pantheons.
I thought it was a beautiful church as well. Sometimes I read the posters comments and can’t believe how dumb some of them are.

It had the benefit of being a fairly unique design compared to most other churches around here.
Baptist churches tend to be white with big grand pillars. Cathedrals have their own traditional designs even if there is some different flavor to each one. A lot of churches these days tend to be very plain buildings.
This one had character because I can’t think of another one that really looked like it. Certainly not any other Episcopal church in the area, as the one at Episcopal HS, St Margaret’s, and others looked little if nothing like it.

That’s not a very christian thing to wish/hope for

Construction equipment was out there earlier knocking down parts of it.

Went by there this morning, was pretty sad to see. That fire was crazy intense, will be interesting to hear the cause.

Forwarding this comment to the arson investigators.

St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Houma burned down in 2010. They rebuilt in 2014-15. Ten years later St Lukes goes down.
Maybe God does have a bone to pick with Episcopalians. Just kidding. My kid went there for 3 years before I pulled him due to every boy at the school being weird AF.

I got married in that church. I’m no longer a strong believer, but it was a beautiful church inside. Never had anything bad to say about St. Luke’s. Very sad to see it gone.

Same, grew up in that church. Left the church, religion several years ago but seeing it in that condition and the old parishioners in the parking lot visibly upset was just sad.

Had my father's funeral service in it almost 4 years ago. Tough to see that.
