I have no idea lol. Undergrad was environmental engineering and masters will be I think Coastal and something something through the Civil department. His research had "something" to do with the BP oil spill.

Gotcha. I think GHD is hiring right now in BR. I've heard mixed things about working there.

Back to the topic at hand though, hope you jax guys that stayed are safe, from what I've seen/heard this could have been much worse.

Thanks for the concern man. We realized things were looking for the worse this morning despite prep. We're at higher ground in MtP. Just hoping there's something to go back to. Good luck to everybody in the low country.

It's Daufuski Island. No bridge, boat only access. Apparently some are staying even though reports are the whole thing could flood. I live near there just outside of Hilton Head but took the family to NC. Hoping it turns away from the Lowcountry

Where in Mt P? Come to Snee Farm and have a bourbon or 3 if you want

We have a mean pot of spaghetti on right now and the 10 of us are just making the best of it. I just hope we don't lose power before the Clemson game tonight

We were here for Hugo and I'm confident in our prep.

Stay safe bud.

I've been watching footage from Brevard county...Cocoa beach and that area. Some of them lost a little roof structure, some lost a lot of shingles, and some docks.

While not a comprehensive list, it is not near as bad as I would have expected. It gives me hope for all of the rest of you because the morning news said they were getting the crap kicked out of them. It appears that most fared ok.

Once again, the footage I was seeing was early.

What I've learned in this thread is that way more people on this site live in Charleston than I previously thought.

Well Charleston is an amazing place. I can't fault anyone for wanting to live there. We went to Charleston for the first time 3 years ago and were blown away. We'll certainly be back. I hate to see that area having to deal with something like this. It's so beautiful in that area. I hope damage is minimal and you all are in my prayers

I did my fellowship there and strongly considered staying but family won out. Hope my former friends and colleagues suffer only minimal damage.

Agreed. We went there on our honeymoon in 2011 and have been back every year but one either for our anniversary or summer vacation.

At least two deaths in Florida have been connected to the hurricane. Early Friday, the St. Lucie County fire service received a call to aid a woman who had suffered a heart attack, but winds approaching hurricane force prevented emergency vehicles from responding. Around noon, another woman was killed in Volusia, Fla., when a tree fell on her after she went outside to feed animals, according to James T. Dinneen, the Volusia County manager.

CNN is saying 3 deaths but gave no information regarding those fatalities.

Snee Farms a little far for me to go now that I'm good and hunkered down. US17 and Dragoon. I did bring some wine. Thanks for the offer.

After this thread seeing all the people on this board living in Charleston, I definitely need to watch some LSU games with you people moving forward.

Little roof damage to the garage but that seems to be it. This is right off Minutemen.

While not ideal, it is not horrible. Are you going to rebuild the 2x4 structure, skin it with plywood, then roof it or are you just going up with a roll of screen and a couple cans of Flexspray?

Looks like Gainesville is in the clear.

When does the SEC tell Florida to play LSU on Monday?
