It’s crazy that Antarctica is off limits.

You can go there but in only one place and you can’t go do anything and there is nothing at all around the place where you are allowed to go to.

If you go anywhere else in Antarctica, you get arrested

I read that this was staged (for attention) and other people had live streamed there with no issues.

Because of Starlink, the first person has live streamed the legendary "ice wall" in Antarctica.

@Starlink
is a game changer for the streaming industry.

We can now see places like never before.

Amazing.

Poor guy was shut up permanently after his TV interview. It's not that he "saw too much"; he started to let the cat out of the bag. Even by the late 1950s America and the rest of the world were still trying to figure out what Antarctica was about.

Soon after the Admiral's untimely demise EVERY country was in agreement that further independent exploration and access of its 5,000,000 sq miles (size reported by Byrd) should be restricted only to approved "researchers", "military" and VIPs.

The story of admiral Byrd is either one of how a successful man with no history of mental illness and decades of experience in the military lost his mind or the greatest conspiracy/coverup of all time.

I'm certainly not arguing he didn't lose his mind. Entirely possible.

I'm just saying particularly given what we now know about government coverups I'm just not ruling out that something happened down there that the leading post WW2 governments decided to make go away.

I know I would've laughed at anyone suggesting what we know for a fact is true in the Epstein files was real a decade ago.

Post WW2 (1947 specifically) through the 1950s has to be the strangest 10-15 years ever. "They" made a ALOT "go away".

Yeah, kinda odd how a military guy who'd been celebrated and ticker-taped down Broadway for his Antarctic/Arctic exploration suddenly "lost it".
Byrd's fantastic TV Longines Too-revealing interview spelled the end :-(

We both know that "He's crazy!" can be framed as, "Ooops. Now how do we discredit him? Can't let the truth get out."

They did it permanently a year after his last Antarctic "adventure".

Hear ya. It did still seem more than plausible to me back then -- but I'm just an old nutty conspiracist who shouldn't be taken seriously. You're getting there

So videotaping the environment of snow and ice is verboten for good reason? What's the place hiding?

The whole "limited bandwidth" excuse for shutting the guy's podcast down is malarkey.

If we take the percentage of Antarctica that isn’t ice and apply it to the US, that would leave us 14,000 square miles of no ice.

On a continent of alleged 5,000,000 square miles. (but I suspect the "un-melted" areas are far more common than they'd lead us to believe.)

There are / were reports of many "green" areas "beyond the ice wall" back when Adm Byrd (RIP) was scoping out and surveying the interior to some degree. For some weird reason there's been a Blackout of info for over 70 years.

That information is apparently classified.
