Just received one: "Good morning, I want you to take a moment and stop EVERYTHING you are doing..."
So I hung up and sat there as still as possible
Verizon has done a pretty damn good job screening robocalls recently.
I'll get a call and Verizon will apply a "Potential Spam" to their caller ID. Used to get 10 calls/day. Now I get 5/week

That is part of the new FCC regs which allow the phone companies to be far more aggressive with this sort of action. But these are "may" regulations so different companies can apply them as they see fit.

Tuesday I received 10 calls all left a blank 32 second voicemail each time.
The numbers varied but from the same area code so blocking a number didn't do anything.

I stopped answering the phone about 10 years ago- unless the name on the ID is someone I know.
Best decision ever.
Let’s assume you’re taking a nap in the afternoon. Or your baby gets waken up by a robocall. Just because you ignore something doesn’t mean it doesn’t infiltrate your life.

Then I get them talking and tell them I drive a '69 Camaro SS and ask how much the extended warranty is on that.
Could also say 1963 Pontiac Tempest or 1964 Buick Skylark.

I’m in sales so I get a lot of calls even from non-contacts in my phone. If they don’t leave a message I don’t worry about it. If I have time I might send them a text message. If they don’t reply I block the number.

I get a lot of the ragheads telling me I’m approved for a $2000 loan. I usually mess with them until they hang up.

I got rid of my landline because of endless robocalls.I’ve gotten very few on my cellphone except for the car warranty.Probably 5-6 of them.

All those Iraqi's, Syrians, and now Afghans Slow Joe and his Ho are bringing over gotta work somewhere. Spam calling is about the only thing a bunch of stone age goat herders are qualified for. They can't even understand food crop picking since it doesn't involve draining the sap from flower buds.

2 different ones:
1. "please don't hang up, this is google calling about your listing". Click
2. Fraternal Order of Police blah, blah, blah. Appears to be an interactive Robo. "Hey ******, this is Tom with the blah blah blah" (waits for your reply). "Blah, blah, blah (waits for your reply). Blah, blah, blah (waits for your reply) Could you donate $50 blah, blah, blah. Click

Put the phone on DND and set it to only allow calls from contacts or calls from the same number twice in 3 minutes.

RoboKiller is a great app. Will shoot the caller to a separate voicemail and basically tell them you can leave a message, but will not be called back. Also tells you if caller is legit

don't answer your phone, that is how they get you
Posted on 8/19/21 at 1:21 pm to theunknownknight
I get them, but I don't answer. If I don't recognize the number I don't answer and if its something important they will leave a VM.. Some of them don't come up as "spam risk"?
I get test as well, but not many. Anytime I get a spam text I reply STOP and it always gives me a reply "this number has been removed from our list".

I have Robokiller on my phone. It works great. blocks most of them automatically. The more people that get it will even work better.

My robo calls have increased to over 15 a day the past few days
