Why do people care so much about the halftime show? To me, the Super bowl is the worst game of the year. I mean, I love the NFL format in determining the two best teams who get to play for the SB, but it also feels like its separate from the rest of the season. All of a sudden people who don't really follow football care about the biggest game of the year. The week of is a big ole "whose who" event that's for creating content. I don't give a frick if a bad bunny or Debbie Gibson is performing at halftime.
The HT show will have huge ratings no matter what because even the people who hate the idea of whoever is performing will watch so they can complain about it.

Not my taste in music but I don't really care. I enjoy listening to music that I listened to when I was younger just like this generation will probably listen to this dude when they're older. This half time show isn't geared towards me and that's cool. I don't take their music selection that seriously.

Therein lies the issue. Not that the music isn’t catchy or maybe the guy has a bit of talent. Why the Nfl, a great American institution, would choose this guy. Whoever is in charge of the halftime talent acquisition probably chose him more for the controversy than they did for the entertainment value.
