Teddy led soldiers while he was in horseback and they walked.
This particular statue isn’t about rough riders but the people in it aren’t submissives. Teddy is just a great man.

The irony here is that the museum could have depicted Teddy by himself and that would apparently be okay with the SJWs. However, the commission wanted to add indigenous peoples who were crucial in Teddy’s explorations across the US and Africa. That has now gone from honoring these people who were vital to him to a symbol of white supremacy because of height. This is unreal.
