Isn’t all of history just the tearing down of old monuments to build new ones?
The statues represent all that was right to few, and all that is wrong to fewer... but they are indeed polarizing.
“The goodness of beings frozen in bronze, will thaw with the passage of time, and the marvel around them decay if the rot of their evils abide.”
One hundred and one years after his death, Teddy is being relegated to the countless pages that carry his stories, paintings and photos of his journeys, and legacy of his right actions. Would he care about a statue? Would you follow someone that did?
Relax already. This move away from founder worship happens as every young great nation matures. We are not falling like Rome, or others before us. We are defining the terms of our next chapter.
If your only response is to revolt against progress, count yourself among deserters that would rather see us burn than change.

He said some bad shite in his 20s but that attitude changed over time. I think it was something along the lines of 9 out of 10 of them being better off dead. But again, he stopped thinking that way into his 40s.

Yep. There is no line where they stop. They will continue crushing everything that doesn’t fit their agenda now or in the future.
It’s not just about their agenda, they will crush everything period. Either someone gets out there and physically stops this or it all crumbles. This will never stop.

This is the very thing i keep saying.
BLM doesn’t want equality. They want to remove all white people.
Anything the shows a whites person in power, they want removed.

With that being said, every woman in this nation should consider taking deep umbrage with any depictions of the philanderer and condoner of rape that was Dr. King.
This would be progress, after all.

I don't think a movement to remove someone who has done or said such things is that big of a leap.
Or removal of people that were strong in their particular faith.

You also have to ignore that Teddy wasn't exactly fond of Native Americans despite using him to his benefit.
The entire founding of America wasn’t exactly fond of Native Americans.
Cowboys and Indians.
The reality is the entirety of human history is one group of people conquering another. If history hurts others feelings so much then they should be pissed at their ancestors for being conquered.
There isn’t one innocent race on this Earth. Bunch of pussies we’ve become.
ETA: Teddy was President. It’s normal for presidents to be depicted in a position stature. His biggest problem is he was a white male.

Well, look at this movement as a new conquering.

But you can decide to stop celebrating and glorifying certain parts of it.
How often do you see crowds of people at that Teddy Roosevelt statue lighting candles and celebrating all the cool things he did?

It is certainly an agitation and an attempted overthrow. Conquered has yet to be determined.

This same shite has gone on forever. New political parties move in and remove the imagery of the old. New religions move in and remove the relics of the old. New societies move in and remove the culture of the old, etc, etc.

Well if no one cares, then why do you care if they take it down. Sound logic there
