The life of my children are perfectly fine in the part of New Orleans I live in. I worked hard so that I could afford them a nice home, safe neighborhood, and a good school IN THE CITY. I'd rather live in New Orleans and raise my kids here any day of the week. The Northshore is boring and my kids will thank for me not moving them to such a boring place.
You clearly don't know shite about New Orleans.

People like you astound me. You really have no idea that not everyone can do that. Not even speaking of cost.
No shite. lets frame our argument with the notion that money is no issue. Just laughable.

Very pretentious, especially for what it is.
Somewhat agree.. yeah, I can see where people would say that

The people of Covington are a lot like Ole Miss fans. Walking around with an unearned arrogance and sense of superiority.
I've never experienced this, I do agree a lot them are arrogant till they find out you have more $$$ than them, like most NMT,(new money trash)

What do your kids do in Nola that couldn't be done on the NS? What epic adventures are they experiencing that keeps their lives from being boring?

Keep trying to take what I said out of context, it's cool.
Academically, the Southshore catholic and private schools are better than the Northshore schools. Even you can't deny that. That's why you're hanging your argument on the cost factor. If you can afford to live in a nice neighborhood in New Orleans, post-Katrina, you can afford to send your kids to a good school. Period.

we won't know until the catholic schools get state performance scores... when it was a 200 point scale Mandeville had like 155 and other st. tammany parish schools like fontainebleau were up there

You're a class A tool. I'm straddling the fence here, conceding points on the bubble people, and you keep hammering your same arrogant points. I, for one, am grateful we will never be neighbors.

Sounds to me like you're simply jealous of the city lifestyle. Don't judge me because I can afford it and you can't.

Judging by the way you conducted yourself in this thread, I doubt you have any job of importance. I can guarantee you're no lawyer.

Lakeview is just a suburb too, really, that's located in Orleans parish. Not that exciting.

Don't know why he's so upset. We don't want him, he doesn't want us, you'd think it would all be as it should be, but yet there is still butthurt. I love New Orleans and spend a lot of time there and I like them in conjunction with each other. They don't need to compete.

That's a little off base. There is no shortage of money on the north shore.
That doesn't make it suck less though.

STP is the highest earning parish in the state.

Property is far more expensive on the Southshore though. If you own, as I do, then you'd understand. Like I said, I'll gladly pay the extra cost (taxes and all) to live in a real city and not a suburb. Again, there are plenty of safe places to live in New Orleans, if you're willing to pay the price. I am.

I choose not to live in NO because I have a special needs child who I would have to put in a lottery for a school that can support him. Here, I don't have to do that. Whatever he needs is taken care of. There are literally dozens of lawsuits against the JP and NO school systems for violation of IDEA. One I know of in particular is a blind kid who was sent to a 3 story school with no elevator and no aide. But, you apparently can only see one side of life from your high horse. Like I said, it isn't always about money. Private schools are not equipped to take special needs kids and would unaffordable if they could.
You have just shone more snobbery and arrogance than every single person I have met on the NS since we moved here. And that is saying quite a lot.

Actually, I didn't show any "snobbery" in the first comment that set you off. You got offended that I said the catholic and private school are better academically. They are. You're just as snobby claiming the Northshore is "such a great place to live" and it's "better than...x place".

I don't disagree with that, but to act like the people on the NS live there because they are too poor to live in NOLA is just stupid.
The folks in Covington are NOT poor, they are just assholes.
And I think the education system is a wash. I know tons of people whose families paid a shitload of money to keep them out of NO public schools (and rightfully so). But that education isn't better than most half decent suburban public or private schools.
You just come off sounding like a spoiled rich douchebag.

You mentioned how fiscally fortunate you are no less than five times.
