for style points and attention
In fairness, most people buying F150s aren't buying it for what it can do as a truck.

Also, you mentioned people will just buy it for style points but on the flip side, for those who truly need the functionality of the truck and its features for the normal work they do around town, for the same price the Tesla will give you more than its competitor.

So while some will certainly buy it for exactly what you said, style points and attention, some folks that need the functionality will pay the same amount and get less for probably not very many good reasons other than "I ain't getting no electric car!"

I'd rather drive a Geo Storm hatchback (with truck nutz) than this subsidized disaster.
Won't be subsidized.

$40k, $50k, and $70k models.

Cheaper one to come out in 2022, the other 2 in 2021.

$50k-70k depending on single, dual or tri motors and whatever other features they may add later.

A dude at my office just put a down payment on one or whatever the pre-ordering is called.

I can't wait to ask him to drive it to lunch.

That's like saying it won't be hideous.

Maybe it's not subsidized, but those sun-powered battry's that "built" Tesla didn't make themselves and a free market didn't either. Even the govt tit lovers at the LA Times admit Musk would be nowhere without subsidies. Also here's another article if you care: Tesla subsidies.

No, what I said was factual.

Both articles you linked are from 2014 and 2015, they're irrelevant to what I said, which is the Tesla truck will not be subsidized for consumers.

Starting in 2020, no Tesla purchases will come with the tax credit. So like I said, there will be no subsidies for the Tesla truck.

What size bed do you need to haul your grill? It has a 6 1/2' bed.

Here is the bottom line, would you rather the government foster America's competitive advantage in EVs or would you rather us cede one of the world's biggest emerging economic engines to China, Japan and the European countries?

I was wondering the same when I read that post.

Sounds like one hell of a grill.

I put the down payment ($100 and fully refundable) the morning after the announcement. Still not 100% sure I would even actually consider it, but what harm can $100 do if it puts me towards the front of the line?

Reading his posts in this thread, it honestly just seems like he'd rather Tesla lose, no matter what...just cause.

Nah, I wish it was modeled after the Warthog from Halo. That would be badass

The Cybertruck looks like something out of 80's SciFi like Blade Runner.
